Do you ever feel like a 'Chicken running around with it's head cut off'? That's what it's like for me at the moment. At least I think. I've never been a chicken, or run around with my head cut off......but.......sure, that works!!!

REVIEW!!!!!! So ‘FLY BOYS’ is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time!!!!!!! It is definitely going on my top movies list! So, the main character is Blaine Rawlings (James Franco), he was a rancher until the bank foreclosed on his ranch. And the police were after him because he took a bit of his anger out on one of the bankers with a little punch. The movie is ‘loosely based on a true story’. Interpret as you like. The squadron is the Lafayette Escadrille. The first American pilots to fight in WWI, they joined the French Air Force, many not knowing anything about flying as planes had only been around for a few years. It has Jean Reno as the French Commander, and I didn’t wait around to see all the credits, but the rest of the actors were great too! I would definitely recommend this movie! You may even learn a little French.

I went to the UCLA vs. Washington Huskies game this weekend. One of my cousins plays for UCLA, so my uncle gets tickets to all the game. Anyway 3 of us were invited to go!!! I’ve got to tell ya, it’s a little intimidating walking through a sea of purple shirts wearing something ‘baby blue’. Unfortunately, UCLA lost. It was the first time in 5 years that U of W had beaten them, so their fans were totally going crazy! Of course there were the nice opposing fans, and the horribly crude opposing fans cussing up a storm. And boy did they think they were quite clever with some of their rhymes. We got to see my cousin that we hadn’t seen in at least 9 years. It’s weird when the last time you saw someone they were probably 4” taller than you, and now he’s about a foot taller than me. Yup, about 6’8”, the dudes just huge!!!! But nice as can be! We got to visit for a few minutes after the game before he had to get on the bus. Exactly the same Brian we knew before! So, the next time you watch a UCLA game, watch for #68 and be sure to cheer!

Yikes!! Here we go!

Things to be excited about!!!! As fall comes, so comes a bunch of new movies, and music!!!!!! School starts for most, and so do music lessons. So, what am I excited about? Music lessons have started like I already said, and that leaves me to tell you about the movies and music!!!!!

Movies – This week there are a couple that I want to go see! There is one called ‘Fly Boys’ about WWI fighter pilots. The lead actor (I can never remember his name) is Peter Parker’s best friend in ‘Spiderman’. Anyway, previews look promising!!!!! Then there’s ‘The Guardian’ with Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher. Now, usually I think those two are pretty corny, but this one looks interesting. It’s about Coast Guard Rescue Divers. Both are rated PG-13, and I haven’t read any movie reviews on them yet. Another one I think I will see is ‘Grid Irion Gang’ with The Rock, and Xhibit. I know you’re thinking ‘well, that’s real quality!’ but, all the reviews for it have been good. I think it will be a pleasant surprise!

Music – Okay, so I’m really excited about the music releases coming this fall!!!!! Here’s my top 2!!! Josh Groban’s new album is due out sometime this fall. You can hear one of the new songs from on his web-site, it’s pretty and called ‘You Are Loved (Don’t Give Up)’. I’ve heard he went to Africa, so some of his new songs are African influenced. I heard a clip of one called ‘Weeping’ that he sings with Ladysmith Black Mombasa (spelling?) and it sounds really cool! And then Il Divo has a new album called ‘Siempre’ to be released on November 21!! It will be their 3rd album. Really, it’s their 4th if you count their Christmas Album. I do, because I love their arrangements of the classic Christmas songs. And Rejoice is absolutely beautiful! As I understand, ‘Siempre’ will be more like their 1st album ‘Il Divo’ and have some more up-beat songs. With that, I think they will probably release their World Tour Video around the same time. Jim Brickman is also going on tour this fall! Promoting his Windham Hill release. I think it’s called Peaceful, or something. The cd is just a compilation of some of his other songs from what I could tell. Unfortunately, I have to go to my brother’s rehearsal dinner on the same night as the concert in Portland! Oh well, maybe next time.

I almost said something profound, then, like one of those pesky gnats that flies in your mouth and nose.....it was gone! Don't you just hate that????

On to lighter subjects! Actually, there's not much lighter than gnats..... oh well. I love watching reality tv! It is soooo funny to see people reacting to situations!!!! I'm not going to list specific shows, I'll leave that up to your imagination.

Okay, so I today I was piano teaching day. Very fun!!! Always fun for me! But it is soo interesting to see the different learning styles of my students. I won't go into detail, as that would only bore you.

My room!!!!

Yeah!!! I actually cleaned my room!!! Good for me!!!! It was soooooo nasty vacuuming under my bed!! Yuck!

But anyways, I threw out all my old school papers from 1999! *shocker* and all my old electronics that didn't work. Then I finally hung up the full-length mirror I got for last Christmas. (I'm kinda slow to get moving!) Then I hung up 3 cool pics I have in my room by the Artist Chris Consani. They're really cool with Humphrey Bogart, Elvis, James Dean, and Marilyn Monroe. Black and Red and Gold are the main tones. Yesterday we got a bunch of pillows to put on my bed. My comforter is like crazy bright colored stripes everywhere. So, almost any bright colored pillows work!!!!! I got solid ones, and a few with crazy flowers on 'em!!! Sooooo much fun!! I feel like an interior decorator!!! *Sighs and sits back content with a smile*
